The Cabinet heard the verbal report of Mr. A. Samad Azad and also took note of the special problems mentioned and suggestions put-forward by Mr. Azad.

Under the Miscellaneous head, the Cabinet discussed the possibilities of setting up administration in the liberated areas of Bangladesh.

It was pointed out that the scheme for the establishment of Zonal Administrative Councils is expected to take care of the administration in the liberated areas.

It is hoped that the Zonal Administration now wet up will be able to extend its arm to the liberated areas as and when necessary.

The particulars problems to be taken care of in the liberated areas

i) maintenance of law and order;

ii) supply of essential consumer goods; and are :

iii) maintenance of basic facilities, such as, vater supply etc.

The Cabinet decided that the Cabinet Secretary will work out details of schere for establishing administration in the liberated Zone(s) through the mechanism of the Zonal Administration Scheme.

The General Administration Department will be consulted in this matter.

The Foreign Secretary submitted a list of persons to be included in the Bangladesh Delegation to the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly Session. This was considered by the Cabinet.
